Top 10 Signs You’re In The Friend Zone

1. “You know what… you’re like a brother to me.”

Your goal was a relationship, but you ended up in the Friend Zone… In fact, you’ve gone so far into the Friend Zone that you’ve become a “brother.”

If you ever hear these words, congratulations you are officially the “King of the Friend Zone!” Seriously though, if you ever hear these words, then you really do have a problem. No one… No one in their right mind. She goes out with her brother! So for your own sake, go ahead and wipe out any hope of getting romantic with her.

2. It’s okay for her to talk about other guys WITH YOU

NOTE: In this case, she is not trying to play games and/or make you a little jealous.

No! In this case, she constantly comes to you to complain about her mixed feelings for other guys, or even worse, to talk about her current relationship with you. If you’re in on this, stop being more than a friend… maybe a one-night stand if you’re lucky.

Let me explain when you get to a point where she feels comfortable enough to talk to you about the guys she likes, then in her mind you will never be one of those guys!

Which means that she will never become emotionally attached to you in that way and that is why you would, unfortunately, be the ideal booty as there would be no emotional attachment to complicate the physical nature of such an arrangement.

3. “I love the way I’M NOT AFRAID to tell you anything.”

These words are only ideal when you have been in a relationship with the girl for a while. If not, this is usually a warning sign that she is entering or has entered the Friend Zone.

Let me explain…

As a general rule, most girls avoid revealing everything to a guy that they really like, they usually wait a while in a relationship before they feel comfortable enough to start revealing their deepest and darkest secrets, i.e. anything.

So if you’ve turned into her human diary and don’t even date her, then wake up and smell the roses because you’re firmly in the friend zone.

4. She gets into a relationship… with someone else

DUH!

This is obvious! If what you thought was your best vibe produced this result, then the scientific equation is simple:

You + Her = “Friends forever”

5. “I think it’s better if we stay friends.”

The translation to this statement is simple:

“Hold your horses, buddy! You’re already in my friend zone and that’s why I can’t even imagine dating you… Save yourself the trouble and go back to my friend zone where you belong.”

Yes, this is a direct quote from the women’s dictionary… It’s a bit harsh, but sometimes it helps to be frank.

6. No physical attraction

The desire to want to touch and hug is a positive sign of intimate compatibility. So if there is ABSOLUTELY NO physical attraction or tension between the two of you when you’re around, then you really are deep in the friend zone.

FACT: “If a girl can’t think of you in a physical way, then you have no chance of dating her. You might as well be her brother.”

7. “Let’s try to be good friends first and then see where it takes us.”

The translation to this statement is simple:

“You’re Friend Zone material and nothing more! Now I hope if you stick around long enough you’ll come to terms with the fact that you and I can’t be more than friends!”

8. She won’t engage in flirty talk with you.

Many claim that flirting is innocent but any good flirt (like me) knows better.

In general, people flirt with those they are attracted to, or at least those we have the potential to be attracted to given the right circumstances. Therefore, most girls use flirting to hint at attraction, tease and encourage any guy she likes to pursue her.

Simply put, if she’s not flirting with you, there’s a good chance you’re in the friend zone!

9. “You’re my best friend.”

Now this isn’t always a bad thing, is it?

Since sometimes girls end up dating their best friends, right?

YOU WISH!!

Let me explain…

The above case of girls best friend dating has a statistically less than 1% chance of happening for you or anyone else. If you’ve accomplished the unenviable task of becoming her best friend before her boyfriend, then I’ll give you three guesses as to where else you’ve gotten in.

Here’s a clue, it starts with “Friend” and ends with “Zone”

10. “I don’t want to risk losing you as a friend.”

If you didn’t get the Friend Zone reference in that comment, read the last 3 words again: As a friend. Enough talk.

Listen buddy, if you’ve experienced any of the top 10 above, then the Friend Zone is where you’re at and where you’ll stay for the foreseeable future. Next week, we’ll go over some popular reasons why so many guys find themselves in the friend zone.
