Relapse during the Candida diet?

It happened to a couple of friends of mine, while they were on a Candida free diet. After a while, after she started the treatment, they experienced an extinction reaction, also known as the Herxheimer Reaction. So, let’s see and try to understand what went wrong.

An extinction reaction is usually caused by dead Candida yeast, the corpse of which contaminates your body. Even dead Candida is still toxic to your body. Some alternative healers would say that a dead yeast is even more toxic to the body than a live one. Let’s try to understand how this can be possible. While suffering from a Candida infection, your body suffers from toxins that are mostly eliminated by yeast during its lifetime needs. When the parasite dies, all the poison accumulated in its body is discarded at once. If you follow me here, you already understood that an extinction reaction is actually a good sign, a sign that your diet is working.

The symptoms of the Herxheimer reaction are very similar to the symptoms of Candida and that is the reason why it seems that your symptoms are getting worse. The symptoms are getting worse, that’s correct, but the treatment is going well. As the show draws to a close, the episodes of kill reactions become fewer and fewer, disappearing once the Candida clears up. In case you experience the Herxheimer reaction, simply slow down your dietary changes or take a step back. A good cleansing program would be perfect: detox enema, various yeast-free foods, etc.
