When I started affiliate marketing, I was trying to sell $100 products to earn $40. It seems obvious to me now that this is going to be a difficult business model. I would have to have sold thousands of products to live well. Also, I couldn’t use paid strategies in the same way I do now.
When you have a range of high-priced affiliate products within a digital sales funnel, you can afford to spend much more on advertising, knowing you’ll pay it back in the long run. This was something I didn’t understand at first. Even the idea of subscription products alone was a game changer for me.
Each subscription you sell gives you a monthly income. Over time, and assuming you build a strong enough customer base, you can earn larger and larger amounts on a monthly basis.
Even if you make an initial loss (on your marketing), subscription products will eventually pay off, if you get a good enough retention rate. If you then add high-priced products, upsells, and multi-level upsells (commissions from other people’s sales), you’ll be fine.
One of the main problems for me was not the business model at all. I have seen people do well and leave their jobs with high cost affiliate programs. This is the same for many, I think. It is one thing to believe in a high-cost program and another to believe that it can work for you. Without this belief, you will fail. If you don’t believe in something, or have some problems with it, you will refrain from doing it in some way.
The other problem is much more obvious. The lack of cash flow means that high-cost affiliate programs can be prohibitive for some. You must first purchase a sales funnel and a program that offers high-cost articles and subscriptions. This is not cheap. Also, the more higher priced items you want in your ‘online store’, the more you have to pay.
Then you have to pay to market your sales funnel. Just because you bought a high-priced digital funnel doesn’t mean that it will suddenly spring into action and start making you money. Nope! You will need a marketing engine that drives targeted traffic to your sales funnel. This also costs money. Expect to pay while you learn too. You’ll need to start spending a monthly budget before you see any return.
And then a lot of your ads just won’t work. Am I being a messenger of doom here? No, just realistic! Don’t waste your money if you don’t think you can keep learning and implementing marketing strategies to drive customers into your funnel. It also takes time to learn which marketing strategies work and which don’t.
All said and done though, once you’ve mastered marketing, you’ll basically earn an income for life. With a high commission sales funnel, you will have given yourself the chance to earn some pretty fantastic commissions, if you don’t give up first! Those are commissions like $5-$10K per sale, depending on what system you use and how you position yourself.
The owners of such digital marketing systems do not give them away! To earn a 40% commission on a $35,000 product, you will need to purchase the product yourself. If you want the high-priced items in your digital “store,” you have to buy them. If words like scam and pyramid are running through your mind right now, you may already be opting out.
But these marketing funnels are real. The people who run them are also real people. It all depends on your perspective and what you are willing to do to earn high ticket commissions on the internet. A lifestyle that means never working for a boss or employer again may be worth it both financially and in terms of the work you’ll have to do.
Financial freedom is also worth a lot. Imagine never again having to work for anyone or having to sit in traffic to get to and from work. That’s worth a lot to me! Then there is the geographic freedom that running a laptop business brings. If you find yourself looking for excuses, you may not have enough reason to go through with it.
High commission products have been a complete game changer for me. I had to overcome many inner fears and get out of my comfort zone several times, just to grow my online business. Much of the work to be done is not visible. It is in overcoming skepticism and fear of both success and failure.
Your friends and family will not understand it either in many cases. Accessing a high-cost program and learning how to escape the 9-5 hours by making money online is still a bit out of the question for some people. It shouldn’t be because obviously there are many people who have already made a living from the Internet. But for those who still trade their time for money, an easier alternative to making money indicates wasted effort over years and decades for many. This is a tough pill to swallow. Too difficult for some!
They would prefer to dismiss it as a hocus scheme. As if doing so would dispel him from their minds forever! Then it is safe to recognize a life of slavery. If, on the other hand, you choose to embrace technology, you must also work hard and learn new skills and mindsets. This isn’t easy either and although software has made it easier to build online, for some this still brings with it a sense of dread!
If you can overcome the many obstacles, both internal and external, to building a successful Internet business using high-paying affiliate programs, congratulations. You have earned it! For young people this may be easier than for those who are too entrenched in their current mindsets. But as people realize that there is a better way to do things, they jump on the bandwagon or miss it. Which one will you be?
