An Honest Pre-Workout Review: Assault On Muscle Pharm (9/10)

I’m the type of person who enjoys trying a new pre-workout supplement almost every time I run out of my old one. This helps prevent my body from developing a tolerance to any particular supplement, as well as being just plain fun. Variety keeps things interesting, even if the result is what you expected.

The pre-workout that I will review today is called Assault, from the Muscle Pharm company. I found that Assault worked very well for me, and it has become a reliable plugin to come back to after trying a Doozy. Starting with the 1/2 scoop they recommend, after about 10 minutes I can feel the energy begin to surge inside me. As my focus begins to sharpen, my Black Ops 2 score begins to dramatically improve (one of my favorite pre-workout amps). Anyway, after stepping away from video games and hitting the gym, the workouts that follow are always amazing.

One thing to keep in mind about Assault is stamina. I’ve never felt running out of energy during my workout, or crashing out of the gym. In addition, the hydrating properties of Assault are also very useful; I never felt an unnatural level of thirst that I have with some other previous workouts probably due to the lack of electrolytes in those formulas.

Pros

• Higher energy

• Improved focus

• Stamina and hydration are significantly improved

• 5 grams of creatine per serving (I prefer this to supplementing separately

Cons

• The assault gives your skin that tingling / itching sensation

• Due to creatine, some powder remains that does not mix

So I got to the 9.5 / 10 rating for Assault because, for the most part, I have nothing bad to say about it. The only thing that reduces the score a bit is the fact that the powder does not mix completely. Until I get to the bottom of my shaker glass, the taste is delicious (watermelon is my favorite). But because of that dust down there, the taste takes on a slight chemical after the burn. Of course, short-lived, but still remarkable. For me, I find the effects of the massive boost in energy, focus, and hydration worth the slight discomfort at the bottom. Especially knowing that it’s only because they’ve eliminated that extra step of adding my own Creatine to the mix.

So most of all, I speak highly of Assault to anyone who asks me why it works so well. And as I mentioned earlier, I have already purchased Assault multiple times and will continue to do so unless something else comes along that really blows my mind. If you are thinking of trying a new pre-workout, I definitely recommend it. You will not be disappointed.
