Solution to control type 2 diabetes, prediabetes, overweight and obesity

Pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes

Prediabetes, as well as full-blown type 2 diabetes, is on the rise, so much so that in 2010 the World Health Organization (WHO) issued a mandate for all nations to take action to combat the spread. In 2015, the International Diabetes Federation reported that more than 400 million people they lived with diabetes. Experts predict that if this trend continues, by the year 2040, 1.8 billion people worldwide will be diabetic. This article and the research cited focus on the growing recognition by diabetes researchers that consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages (SSBs) and high-sugar foods may be a leading cause of prediabetes , type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), overweight and obesity. A practical and natural solution is also being given to deal with these conditions.

Type 2 diabetes and sugar

Normally, sugar is converted to the simple sugar, glucose. Insulin, a hormone produced by the pancreas, then helps move glucose into the body’s cells. A normally functioning pancreas adjusts the amount of insulin produced based on the level of glucose in the blood. If you have diabetes, your blood sugar levels get too high and a healthy or normal balance is lost. My research has found that type 2 diabetes commonly occurs when one consumes an excessive amount of refined sugar over a long period of time. Unlike type 1 diabetes, in which the pancreas makes little or no insulin, in type 2 diabetes, the pancreas makes an adequate amount of insulin, but the cells are resistant to the hormone.

Research linking sugar intake to weight gain and increased incidence of type 2 diabetes

According to Dr. Sanjay Basu Ph.D., an epidemiologist at Stanford University quoted in the journal Stanford Medicine in an article written by Digitale (2013): Researchers from the Stanford University School of Medicine, the University of California- Berkley and the University of California-San Francisco examined data on sugar availability and diabetes rates from 175 countries over the past decade. After accounting for obesity and a wide variety of other factors, the researchers found that increased sugar in a population’s food supply was linked to higher rates of diabetes, independent of obesity rates. Their study was published in February. 27in PLUS ONE. [1]

FB Hu and VS Malik (2010) stated: Research suggests that consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages (SSBs) is a risk factor for overweight and obesity, as well as several cardiometabolic conditions, especially T2DM. [2]

Overweight and obesity

The human body is a remarkable mechanism capable of healing itself when given the right foods. Lifestyle medicine, the application of healthy eating to allow the body to heal itself, is gaining momentum in the field of medicine. As a diabetes researcher and lifestyle strategist who once nearly lost his life to type 2 diabetes, my life-saving research showed that prediabetes can be reversed and type 2 diabetes can go into remission by using a three-pronged approach. This includes:

  1. Hypocaloric diabetic diet: Facilitates weight loss.

  2. Exercise for diabetics: Exercise designed for diabetics facilitates the burning of excess sugar accumulated in the body, in addition to weight loss. The way this happens is that once the sugar has been burned, the body turns to fat for energy. The first fat that is burned is the thin layer that covers the red blood cells. Once that layer of fat is burned, the red blood cells responsible for transporting the sugar to the muscles to be used for energy are exposed and begin to absorb the sugar and transport it to the muscles. Cells that had become resistant to insulin regain sensitivity to insulin. The diabetes is then in remission.

  3. Vitamins: A diabetic often requires vitamin supplements. Vitamin supplementation can speed up the effectiveness of both of the above methods.

The man credited as the father of Mathematics, Abn al Haytham, also known as Al Hazeen, taught his students the importance of conclusions based on evidence. After consulting with various health professionals, I conducted my own research and experimentation. I was determined to achieve weight loss and reverse my type 2 diabetes. Developing my three-pronged approach allowed me to achieve my goals in just three weeks. This became my direct evidence of its effectiveness and confirmation of the growing claim that addressing excess sugar in the body and losing weight can reverse T2DM. In 2009, when I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, I had a blood sugar level of 21.7 millimoles/the life-threatening amount. After three weeks on my program, my blood sugar level was normal. With continued practice of the specific exercises given in my diabetes/weight loss program, I have gone from 220lbs overweight to my suggested healthy weight of 180lbs. To this day I am still free of type 2 diabetes and at the same healthy weight.

The above three steps have been approved by Teacher. SM RAJENDRAN. MD, FRCP(GLASS), D.Sc. and Professor of Diabetology and Medicine and are available to the public worldwide on the Just For Diabetics website. Adherence to the above three-pronged system can certainly and easily allow a prediabetic to lose weight and outgrow her condition. It can also put diabetes into remission while allowing weight loss, as I did myself. Further reaching these goals brings with it a reduction in the chances of getting heart disease or having a stroke; two of the leading causes of death for a diabetic and overweight person.

As a lifestyle strategist trained in the culinary field, my personal experience with losing weight and curing type 2 diabetes using lifestyle medicine (healthy eating, exercise, and vitamins) was featured in WebMD in 2016.

diabetes management

Most commonly, type 2 diabetes is controlled through the use of prescription medications. Managing diabetes in this way has allowed the reversible condition to proliferate around the world. Controlling diabetes means that the victim will always remain diabetic. While managing diabetes, you can apply the triple approach of lifestyle medicine to reverse your condition and achieve excess weight loss. You should also consult with your doctor when adding this method to your lifestyle.
