Saint Lucia – The tropical paradise of chocoholics

Saint Lucia is a tropical island located in the eastern Caribbean Sea near the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. With a passionate history, stunning beaches, and a thriving chocolate industry, it has quickly become a prime spot for tourists and backpackers to kick back, kick back, and sample world-class award-winning chocolate.

Beaches and Sun

The average daytime temperature in St. Lucia is 29 Celsius/84.2 Fahrenheit, or as I like to call it, “Perfect Beach Weather.” And with the number of beaches to choose from, whether it’s relaxing quietly with your partner or partying wildly, you’re sure to find it all in St. Lucia. The average nighttime temperature currently stands at 18 Celsius/64.4 Fahrenheit, making it perfect for going out, whether in town or on the beach, without getting unbearably hot.

Hotel Chocolate

Hotel Chocolat you probably know as the world famous chocolatiers, what you may not know is that they are based in St. Lucia, one of the few chocolate companies that actually grow the cacao themselves and follow the buying process until the consumer and are eager to showcase such cacao fields encompassing stunning environmental areas. And of course, while you’re out on the rides, why not treat yourself to some world-famous chocolate?

Those hikes can get you very hot, of course, under the sun of the island’s tropical climate, so what better way to cool off than a chocolate-inducing spa treatment. Yes, you read that right, a chocolate spa. Do I need to say anything else?

festivals

The St. Lucia Jazz Festival originally started out quite small with just 4 locations used to host performances on the island, but over time the festival and its participants have grown to encompass a large number of musicians who visit and perform in the island. The festival is now televised on BET J, so if you’re not sure whether or not to visit, there’s plenty of footage to see for yourself.

The Saint Lucia Chocolate Festival is another incredible experience that celebrates the country’s long history with cocoa. For centuries, cocoa has been exported and in recent decades the industry has boomed, partly due to Hotel Chocolat’s influence on the global chocolate-making market.

Visiting during the St. Lucia Chocolate Festival is the perfect way for chocolate lovers to enjoy a holiday that would be hard to beat anywhere else in the world.
