1. What period of time should I wait before seeing results?

This is a difficult question as there are a number of factors that you need to take into account. What program are you using? Some are so much better than others, it’s worth spending time researching the best ones out there. Contact friends and colleagues and ask their opinion. In what good shape are you? Do you have knee problems? Results will vary but in general you should see an improvement of one inch per week peaking after 10 weeks.

2. How often should I exercise?

The programs you choose will vary, but are generally 4-6 days a week with at least one day off.

3. How high can I jump?

Most athletes who already play at a decent level and have decent athletic ability can reach 40-50 inches.

4. What happens if I can’t afford the gym membership?

This shouldn’t be a problem. Any good program will have alternative exercises that can be done at home, for example.

5. Is it going to be hard on my knees?

There is always that problem if you have chronic knee problems. However, some of the lower “impact” exercises will really help strengthen your quads and reduce knee problems.
