How to get your self confidence back after being knocked down

If you’ve ever been shot down by someone, your self-confidence can plummet faster than a runaway airplane. It is possible to regain your self-confidence, but you need to do some ‘inside’ work. How did you attract someone who treated you badly? How do you really feel about yourself? Do you think you deserve love and respect? Asking yourself these and other questions will help you get to the “root” cause of why you would allow someone to treat you poorly. Once you do the ‘inside’ work, you can begin to regain your self-confidence.

How to get your self confidence back after being knocked down

Diary of your feelings. Not facing your feelings is worse than facing them. Instead of dealing with your feelings, you can load them with drugs, alcohol, food, gambling, food, and other addictions. Buy a couple of journals and write until you can’t write anymore. Get all your feelings out of your system. When you’re ready, take a deep breath and read what you wrote. It will be cathartic and painful at the same time, but at least you will face your feelings and be able to heal yourself.

Realize that most people are insecure. Anyone who has the urge to bring you or someone else down has major self-esteem issues. Send a lot of love to that person who destroyed you and move on with your life. Forgive them because they did not know what they were doing. Forgiveness does not mean exonerating the person for treating you badly, it means that you free yourself from the person and the situation.

Do the mirror exercise.. Every day look in the mirror and say, “I love you.” The more you say this, the more your self-confidence will return.

Enroll in a martial arts class.. He will not only lose weight and tone his body, but also regain his self-confidence. Martial arts classes are great for learning discipline. You will find your inner strength and begin to honor yourself more. The more you honor yourself, the less likely someone else will bring you down. You will also learn about trust, loyalty, and honor.

Hire a counselor and life coach. A counselor can help you analyze and get to the root of why someone took you down. As a step? How confident were you as a person? When did your self-confidence decline? How old were you? You will be asked to go within to find the answers. Most likely, you still have some problems to solve from your childhood. Most people do.

Hiring a life coach along with a counselor is a great way to move forward in your life. A counselor is usually about the past, while a life coach is about the present/future. They can work with you to help you regain your self-confidence by providing solid information that will stay with you for the rest of your life. Make sure you find a coach who goes beyond giving you homework to do. This is not training, this is babysitting. You want a coach who really works with you and holds you accountable. If you don’t do the work, you won’t get your self-confidence back. You want a life coach who hopes you will regain your self-confidence. They will give you the tools, but it is up to you whether you use them or not.

Enroll in a self-advocacy or self-defense class. This is a great way to learn to assert yourself and protect yourself. You will learn that shadow dancing with someone is not an option. You will know how to handle someone who could potentially bring you down. You will be able to recognize signs like aggression, arrogance, passive/aggressive behavior and other signs. You will not allow people to walk all over you. You will show them who is the boss in your life and you will not draw them into your life anymore!

Learning to take down someone who is trying to hurt you will increase your self-confidence. You will save your life in more ways than one. You will assert yourself and be able to get out of danger at the same time.

Enroll in a public speaking class. Most people are terrified of public speaking, they would rather face death! Public speaking is a great way to regain confidence. If you can speak to 50 or more people while staying cool, calm, and collective, you will not only regain your self-confidence, but you will have the respect of your fellow speakers.

No one has the right to bring down another person. If you allow this to happen, it means that you do not honor and respect yourself. Find out why this is happening and get help changing it. Also, anyone who takes down another person could use some help! Remember that everyone is important and no one is an ‘extra’ on planet earth. Don’t let anyone mistreat you and get your power back once and for all!
