Cancer prevention versus cancer cure

I read one of the comments yesterday, from a visitor to our site, in response to the ThinkVitality video that focuses on CANCER PREVENTION. She wrote, “I want to start learning about and investing in disease prevention, rather than hospital bills for illness. I want to change my lifestyle in many areas, starting with what I and my family eat.”

And I started to think about the words she used… “invest”, and how she made “what she and her family eat” the top priority by mentioning “changing her lifestyle in many areas”. The simplicity of their wishes was foremost in my mind, and I began to think of all the various organizations raising millions of dollars from “donations” (which are actually investments), to research and find a “cancer cure” that It already exists… and it has been around for at least 80 years, when Max Gerson discovered the power of Raw Organic Foods to cure any disease!!!

Now tell me which makes more sense… to continue spending millions of dollars on research into an unnecessary cure for cancer, or to redirect that money to organizations involved in actually preventing all disease on a massive scale, making it more affordable for people buy and eat fresh organic fruits and vegetables on a daily basis? This can be achieved by supporting and establishing subsidized food co-ops, which will greatly reduce the cost of high-quality organic food for co-op members! Or even subsidize organic farmers directly, so they don’t have to charge as much for their produce, and/or expand their farms to create even more nutritious food than they already do!

Furthermore, simply by redirecting some of those MILLIONS of dollars from “finding a cure that already exists”, the cost of health care on a national scale would be reduced to an absolute minimum because most people are healthy most of the time!! In fact, perhaps health care costs could become so affordable that they could simply become part of the national budget and absolutely free for people, like in the Netherlands!

Think about it!… Millions of people get and stay healthy because they have a daily diet rich in fresh organic fruits and vegetables! Possibly even some of the money could be used to teach gardening skills and to put both children and adults to work in their neighborhoods, helping families grow, maintain and harvest gardens in their unused garden space, or perhaps even creating community gardens on vacant lots, with everyone in the neighborhood sharing in the harvest! Block Clubs could become an intricate part of the movement, and schools could even start growing enough organic food to serve healthy lunches in cafeterias… The possibilities would be endless!

Let your imagination run wild!… Mine just did!
