History of the Suzuki T350 Motorcycle

The Suzuki T350 is a Japanese motorcycle that was first released in 1969. The original Suzuki T350 was powered by a single-cylinder piston two-stroke air-cooled 315cc engine. This engine was quite quick for its time, allowing the bike to hit 0-60mph in just 6.2 seconds. Many riders enjoy this model for both its tough bike style and its incredible high speed of 90 mph. Many Suzuki T350 models were released over a four-year period until production stopped in 1973.

The first Suzuki T350 model released in 1969 was known as the Rebel. This Suzuki T350 model provided riders with a fast single-cylinder piston-ported two-stroke engine and could easily go from 0-60 in just 6.2 seconds. Many people were surprised by the small fuel capacity (3.9 gallons) which helped Suzuki strive to get off the drawing board for the Suzuki T350 2 that was released just a year later in 1970.

The 1970 Suzuki T350 2 was fitted with a much more efficient engine than the previously released Suzuki T350. The engine was an air-cooled 315cc parallel twin piston valve aluminum jacketed 2-stroke. The total weight of this machine remained the same as its predecessor, at only 149 kg. The biggest difference between the two models was the frame. The Suzuki T350 2 had a suave look that many seemed to be unable to compete with at the time, not to mention speed as well.

In 1971, the Suzuki T350R Rebel appeared in dealerships and came equipped with the same specifications as the two previous models. The biggest difference on this model, as with many of the models, was the frame. The release of the 1971 Suzuki T350R Rebel brought a new look to the market that looks a bit like a modern-day chopper. This bike was only 5 pounds lighter than the original Suzuki T350 and the Suzuki T350 2.

Suzuki’s next T350 release was the Suzuki GT350 in 1971. This release again took on the job of revamping the bodywork to compete with the competition. Many specs stayed the same with this bike except for the 160mm ground clearance. This ground clearance helped many riders learn what it was really like to breathe fresh air on the Suzuki T350, also known as the Suzuki GT350.

The last model was released in 1972 and Suzuki kept its original name intact by simply calling it the Suzuki T350. The engine on this model stayed the same, horsepower rocketing up to 36 at 7,000 rpm, reportedly hitting 8,000 on a good day. Suzuki offered many models for the Suzuki T350, although most of the bodywork changed while the specifications stayed the same. Suzuki T350 models offer passengers a comfortable ride with two seats and suspension that can make a rocky road obsolete. This era of bikes has become a classic and it’s a special rarity to find one that you can call your own.
