Title and author: Multiple Streams of Internet Income by Robert G. Allen

Contents synopsis:

Allen’s thesis here is threefold: first, that you can make a lot of money on the Internet, that it is the gold mine of the future; second, that to maximize Internet opportunities he must exploit several of them, or what he calls multiple streams, and third, if done correctly, this is a quick way to turn a profit.

The strong point of this book is the countless tips and tricks that a person new to Internet trading might not know, but probably a veteran. Major websites and internet resources alone are probably worth the price of the book if you’re just starting out on the web or even fairly new to this. Another strong point of the book is the large number of ideas it suggests to you. You can and should return to this book again and again to extract from it the gems of information that can lead you to opportunities. This is not a detailed instruction manual. It’s a great survey on the basic ways people make money online.

The book’s main weakness is that it makes assumptions that may not hold true to the inexperienced reader and promises too much too easily. Typical of Allen’s approach, he lacks obstacles and limitations, and he yearns for the promise of wealth and ease of endeavor. For example, you look at how quickly you can generate quick sales from a well-written sales letter via email, but don’t tell the reader that this only works when you’ve built a very impressive email subscription list and that it takes a lot of money. or a lot of time and effort to create.

If you can heed that caveat and remind yourself that there are no get-rich-quick schemes (at least none that are legal), you can still benefit significantly from this book.

I have not seen a complete basic introduction to the many opportunities to make money on the Internet that is better than this or more complete. If you want to see the opportunities that exist and get excited about following one or more of these “streams,” this book is a great introduction and motivator. Just remember that it takes a lot of work and a lot more education to achieve the kinds of income streams Allen suggests are easy to do. This book may well be the beginning of your library of wealth on the Internet, but only the beginning; it will take much more to get there.

A principle that Allen teaches here, however, is worth commenting on, as it is very true and very important: It is critical to set up multiple sources or “streams” of income on the Internet because you would not want to find a single source that is perfect. or last forever. Many Internet sales systems wear out over time and you need to launch new “campaigns” to capture more sales.

This book was written in 2001 and is therefore very out of date. The Internet and Internet commerce are changing rapidly. When he wrote this, there were no social networks like Facebook and very little use of videos on the web. On a conceptual level, Allen’s book is still relevant, but on a technical level, a lot has changed since he wrote it.

Readability / Writing quality:

This book is easy to read. Allen writes clearly and makes it all interesting. Use lots of subtitles and organize the information well. Use text boxes with supplemental information, many of which contain gems that are worth more than normal text.

Notes on the author:

Robert Allen is an author who has written about wealth creation for many years. It started with a book called You do not have to give money in advance on how to buy real estate without a down payment. Much has been written over the years about the validity of Allen’s real estate theories. I’ll save that for another time and place when we do an author’s article on him. For now, it suffices to remind the reader that Allen has a lot of motivation and promise of possibilities and little to recognize what can go wrong, where the weaknesses are, etc. It’s a great read if you want motivation and want to stimulate your imagination to create wealth. He should never be the last word: do your due diligence in building any type of business that needs more than a motivating introduction.

Three great ideas you can use:

1. Once you set up an internet money machine, which is an internet sales system, it runs almost on autopilot. It requires little daily attention and if done correctly and if you have built a sufficient subscription list, your sales will flow day and night without much effort on your part.

2. The key to generating strong and sustained sales online is to create a good list of options and keep growing.

3. Good copy, that is, well-written sales pages, is the key to turning potential customers on your opt-in list into actual buyers. Practice and hone the art of good copywriting to maximize your sales opportunities.

It is difficult to narrow the list to three. Allen has a lot of gems here that you need to know from some source if you want to make money online. If that’s your interest, this book is an excellent introduction.
