Battles against the media’s idea of "The Perfect Woman"

Lately I have been studying the media, reading articles, watching the news and looking for anything I can find that makes me feel that there is still hope for our world. If you have read any of my previous articles, then you already know what my concerns are.

For those of you reading me for the first time, my concerns are strong with regard to women today and their search for their true identity.

Women today have fierce competition. I have also talked to many men and they have let me know that they would not change their gender for any amount of money. They really feel sorry for women today. Some of them even shared with me that they hate the fact that everywhere they look, the media idea of ”The Perfect Woman” is plastered on their faces. It sure is nice to look at, any human being will appreciate a pretty image. However, what happens at that very moment is that they (men) find themselves in a situation where they feel like they are betraying their partner by not knowing exactly how to react. I know, I know, some of you are thinking that it is women’s fault that men think like this. I’ll agree in some cases, but these men I’ve spoken to were being quite genuine in that they didn’t appreciate it themselves.

I will be the first to say yes to prostitution. Why? Because it prevents the fucking rapists on the streets from attacking women they don’t want. I say yes to pornography; It keeps men who are afraid to approach real women relieved of a much-needed natural release. I also say yes to alcohol and chocolate ice cream, but my dear readers, before you frown at me for what I just said, hear me say this. “I don’t condone the uncontrolled force and lordship with which the media shoves all of this down our throats. I thought this was a free country. When did we lose the right to choose whether we want to have the media’s idea of ’The Perfect Woman”, shoved down our throats every time we turn on the TV, walk into a bar, just drive down the street (billboards), open a magazine, listen to a song, or just look in our teens’ bedroom.”

I was reading an article announcing the new TV lineups for this fall season. I was horrified when I read about the graphic violence used against women. Episodes showing a woman writhing in a cage, taped over her eyes, while a man’s hands are shown grabbing her bloody fingers through the cage bars and ripping out her fingernails. Another is chained up like a dog in a basement by her supposedly loving husband. She gets worse; there is also one with a woman paralyzed by poisonous spider bites and being raped by a masked figure. This is what society allows you to see after dinner. I’m embarrassed to even say that this is my world when I see this. They made more noise when Janet Jackson slid a nipple spike out of her at a fucking football game. In a word… SAD!! The media has definitely figured out how to make money at the expense of every woman. On a much happier note, “Cheers Dove” is all I can say. Dove is pushing hard and continues an uphill climb to bring back what she wore on this earth as The Real Women.

The people at the magazine who pride themselves on unrealistic looking airbrushed models called the Dove girls in this commercial “civilians.” Say oh! That is a very obvious show of defeat. They’re even trying to say that women today won’t want to buy ads that don’t promise unrealistic beauty. Ladies, the media is calling you stupid from what I’ve read. I take it as a direct insult.

It was about time someone stood up and gave negative media action a chance. Money made at the expense of real women, as I already said once. They also mention something as silly as women worrying if they look fat in their pants, like an old age insecurity. DUH! Nobody said it was new, jeesh. I’m also curious as to how far today’s women are willing to let the media’s idea of ”The Perfect Woman” go. We’re already the end of the cosmetic surgery joke. I feel like the only reason the real women at Dove would reject any woman is because they’ve been brainwashed into thinking that the media’s idea of ”The Perfect Women” is what’s real. I’m sorry for them. Ladies of today, we must rise up and fight back. Don’t let them become, what is supposed to be real, Barbie dolls.

Many women are confused about what it is and what it is not. Why do you think so many women suffer from low self esteem, with cosmetic surgery around every corner and so many unrealistic expectations that we get from the media about what a woman is supposed to look like? BLA bla. No wonder women are so confused.

Well I know there is strength in numbers and I know there are more women today who are fed up with all the media ideas. Ladies with low self esteem, get up, go to the store and support DOVE. And that? They make money and yes, maybe there is some truth to that they too are using us as a way to make a profit. But at least we have a place to start to turn things around. We will never be able to turn them back, but we can make them work for us, not against us. Oh if someone thinks that Dove has asked me, or paid me to talk about them on my blog, NO and NO. I speak for all the women who have been hurt by all the crap the media is trying to run our world with. WomensSelfeesteem.com is pleased to say that Dove is doing something very good on behalf of today’s “real women.”

Standing up for your beliefs builds self-confidence and self-esteem.”
